Roundabout

2009
acrylic on cardboard
36 parts, 23.2 cm Ø each

Guest room, Galerie Vayhinger, Radolfzell, 2009

Roundabout (2009/2020) imagines a space that is a manifestation of Impressionism. Dabs of paint in blue and shades of green have become three-dimensional points in space. The installation is based on an invisible all-over grid, similar to a honeycomb pattern, from which the potential positions of the modules are derived. Staged in very different hangings depending on the spatial situation, Roundabout was originally shown in a guest space at the Galerie Vayhinger and later at the Kunstmuseum Singen. In the interim, it is now on permanent display in the GSG orthopedic practice in Berlin. It was acquired for this site in 2018 and was expanded with 12 modules in 2020.
